Admissions Counselor
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works flexible hours, including mandatory evening and weekend hours.
- Cross-trains with other areas in Enrollment Management.
- Responsible for general office management and administrative functions as assigned.
- Responsible for specific recruitment efforts and organization of special on-campus projects.
- Visits in secondary schools and community colleges to counsel with prospective students and school officials.
- Acts as liaison between the College and its various publics so as to enhance the College’s image.
- Disseminates information dealing with scholarships, financial aid, admissions criteria, programs of study, etc., and counsels students and parents in all areas.
- Maintains an accurate, up-to-date system for tracking and following-up on all students from the point of initial contact through the application process through visits, phone calls, letters, etc.
- Develops and maintains a close working relationship with the various departments and organizations on campus.
- Assists in coordinating campus tours, special events and providing for the needs/desires of specific visiting groups.
- Assists in planning and developing various promotional materials designed to attract quality students to Wiley College
- Maintains a working knowledge of admissions standards, academic and non-academic programs (Wiley College and competitors), student activities, and student services.
- Assists in conducting training and orientation sessions for members of alumni associations, guidance counselors and other officials to ensure accurate and active alumni recruitment of students and continued secondary and undergraduate school relations.
- Participates in appropriate professional, state, regional and staff development workshops.
- Assists in implementing the College wide orientation and registration process for new and currently enrolled students.
- Maintains records and prepares a variety of reports and analyses as required.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 60% (some overnight required).
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
