Position Summary
Centurion Surgery Center is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Admissions Representative to join our ambulatory surgery center (ASC) team. The Admissions Representative is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient registration and admissions process by verifying patient information, confirming insurance eligibility, collecting required documentation and payments, and providing exceptional customer service. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive patient experience while supporting efficient clinical operations.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner.
  • Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and referrals as required.
  • Obtain and scan identification, insurance cards, and other required documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding patient balances.
  • Review and obtain signatures on required consent forms and admission paperwork.
  • Schedule or confirm surgical procedures and arrival times as needed.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, physicians' offices, and the business office to ensure complete and accurate patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with other front office and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of medical office, hospital, or ambulatory surgery center admissions experience preferred.
  • Experience with insurance verification, patient registration, and medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
