In this role, you will lead manufacturing research and development, tackling complex challenges that directly impact the cost, quality, and delivery of Apple's iconic products. Exercising expert judgment, you will establish standard practices, evaluate design approaches, and apply deep expertise in mechanical product design. You will serve as a technical lead, mentoring cross-functional engineering teams and driving the integration of emerging technological trends into our manufacturing processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years in an engineering or automation role, including directing engineering teams for New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Track record of driving cost reduction, managing projects, and executing mechanical engineering design.
- Capability to build and analyze tolerance stack-ups for individual parts and assemblies.
- Understanding of adhesives and dispensing technology.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Operations.
- Expertise in automation machine design for precision consumer electronics assembly, alongside knowledge of optics principles (CCD cameras, 1D/2D lasers) for alignment fixtures.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, PLCs, and PC-based control systems.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and design tools, including JMP, Minitab, and Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency in coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) coupled with the capability to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to solve production problems or automate workflows.
