Advanced Microscopy Engineer
NIST is seeking an Advanced Microscopy Engineer to conduct cutting-edge research that will impact the development of advanced materials by providing new automated methods to evaluate the structure, composition, and performance properties of materials central to critical technologies. NIST's Material Measurement Laboratory conducts measurement science research to benefit industries based in the chemical, biological, and material sciences, and contributes technical expertise to the development of standards. Within this division, the Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Group conducts research and develops metrology to advance, promote, and ensure robust and quantitative microscopy and microanalysis. As an Optical Microscopy Engineer, you will: - Plan and conduct research on advanced optical microscopy methods - Design and build advanced optical microscopes - Demonstrate performance of advanced optical microscopes - Write, technical reports and journal publications and present results to stakeholders
