Position\: Advanced Practice Nurse (General)–Infection Control, HKCH (For serving HA staff only)

Department/Hospital / Cluster \:

Pay \:

HK$64,518 to HK$89,978 [HGPS point 26 to 33A] per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities\:

1.	Lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit.
2.	Develop professional nursing standard, care protocol and clinical pathway.
3.	Provide complex patient care in respective clinical specialty / subspecialty.
4.	Act as a resource and referral agent on clinical expertise of infection control.
5.	Manage nurse-led services to provide specialized patient care.
6.	Train and supervise nurse learners in advanced nursing specialty training.
7.	Initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and nursing research.
8.	Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service.
9.	Carry out infection control duties related duties including but not limited to\: a. Hospital infection control surveillance and generate reports. b. Infection control audit work according to infection control guidelines and protocols. c. Organise infection control training or workshops for hospital staff. d. Monitor hospital infection control practice. e. Participate in investigation and control of infection or outbreaks in hospital f. Provide education, advice and counselling to patients, caregivers and staff on infection control related issue. g. Provide support service to cluster hospitals or perform on-call duties if necessary. h. Assist the Infection Control Officer in all infection control duties.

Entry Requirements\:

1. Holder of a valid Registered Nurse (Part I) practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.

2. Qualification in advanced nursing specialty*.

3. A degree in Nursing or equivalent.

4. 5 years or more post-registration experience in healthcare, of which at least 3 years is in the related specialty.

* Qualification in advanced nursing specialty refers to recognized post-registration certificate, or post-graduate certificate/diploma course in nursing specialty, or Master in nursing# or related discipline with considerable coverage on a relevant nursing specialty.

#Only post-registration Master in nursing programmes are accepted

Preferred Attributes / Exposure\:

1.	Demonstrated competency requirements and leadership ability of an APN.
2.	Master degree in nursing or related discipline.
3.	Contribution to professional development including research/evidence-based practice, teaching and training.
4.	Experience in Infection Control
5.	Planning, organizing & evaluation skills, and good interpersonal skill.
