Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Anesthetist)

About the Position: This position is located at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Anesthetist working in the operating room, ancillary sites and the preoperative clinic. This position provides the opportunity to interact with a wide range of ages and health statuses. (This is not OB, Cardiac, Neuro). Work hour shifts range from 8, 16 or 24 hours. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Provides independent, comprehensive anesthesia care for surgical patients within a Military Treatment Facility.

Review clinical chart and recommend specific type of anesthesia; general, regional, local, and IV sedation.

Anesthetize patients for a broad range of surgery.

Determines the optimal type and method of anesthesia care to administer for a broad range of surgical procedures at the Military Treatment Facility.

Identifies emergency situations and critical changes in patients’ status; notifies surgeon and seeks assistance from the perioperative and anesthesia teams as needed.

Assume full responsibility for all techniques, drugs, and equipment used in the administration of anesthesia.

Conduct and participate in educational programs that improve anesthesia nursing practice.
