Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)

About the Position: This position is located at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center, Fort Meade, Maryland. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

As primary care provider, incumbent conducts and directs collaborative care assessment,diagnosis and management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Assesses acute and non-acute clinical problems.

Obtains and records a problem-oriented health history; performs a systematic physical examination and interprets abnormal and normal findings to form a diagnosis regarding physical, emotional, or social disabilities.

Orders and interprets related laboratory and diagnostic tests; prescribes medications; and initiates emergency care.

Implements the patient therapeutic care plan, with significant emphasis in the areas of patient/family education, assessment ,and support.

Participates in patient care rounds and conferences, presenting patient cases/topics and communicating patient management strategies to members of the patient care team.
