POSITION TITLE: Multi-Site Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
SUMMARY: The APRN works as part of the clinic provider team performing a variety of direct patient services including assessment, diagnosis, implementation of treatment, evaluation, and monitoring the general patient management plan for clinic patients. The APRN performs these functions under the general supervision of a licensed physician in a primary health care setting.
The APRN is expected to provide care across the lifespan, serving patients of all ages including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Duties include well-child visits, routine pediatric assessments, immunizations, developmental and growth monitoring, and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions in children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, a nurse practitioner program recognized by the Board of Nursing or from a program otherwise designated for APRN which has been approved by the State Board of Nursing.
- Must hold a current Florida RN and APRN license.
- Must hold current national certification.
- Certification and clinical scope appropriate to the care of pediatric patients (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner) is required.
- Clinical competency and willingness to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across all age groups, including infants, children, and adolescents.
- Ability and willingness to use Electronic Health Records.
- The ability to relate with warmth and effectiveness to the patients and other health care providers of Broward Community & Family.
- Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.
- Personal and professional qualities to work with the staff of the health center in such a manner as to earn their confidence and respect.
