Advanced Welder
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Must be able to perform all functions of the basic welder classification.
- Must be able to work from verbal instructions, prints, or work orders.
- Required to setup equipment, prepare surfaces to be welded and weld parts.
- Must be able to use hand tools such as grinders, portable spot welder, hammers, screw drivers, vise clamps, fixtures and jigs, etc.
- Must be able to read and layout parts to complex prints and plan details of working procedure.
- Must be able to perform complex welds, such as but not limited to welds for cavity welds and non-pressure boilers.
- May perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
- Must have prompt and regular attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Keep work area clean, neat and orderly.
- Maintain inventory of parts used in area.
- Must report all accidents/injuries to department supervisor immediately.
- Follow all safety rules, policies and procedures
- Train basic welders.

WORKING CONDITION: General plant environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints and layout part to prints.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to weld complex welds
- Must have TIG experience and pass internal welding test
- Must complete the Career Readiness Certification
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
