JOB SUMMARY
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for managing and executing all confirmed group, wedding, and event business for Revelstoke Mountain Resort and its associated properties, including The Sutton Place Hotel and Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge.
This role owns the post-sale lifecycle of group business, working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to transition contracted business into detailed event plans while maximizing revenue through catering, event services, and on-property experiences.
The Catering Sales Manager is accountable for delivering a seamless and high-quality guest experience from contract through to event completion, while ensuring all operational teams are aligned and prepared for successful execution.
JOB DUTIES
Group & Event Planning
Act as the primary point of contact for all confirmed groups, meetings, and events
Coordinate all event details including:
Catering menus
Room setups
Audio-visual requirements and logistics
Develop, manage, and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Lead pre-conference meetings and internal event briefings
Ensure all event documentation is accurate and clearly communicated across departments
Weddings
Manage all wedding bookings from confirmation through execution.
Guide clients through planning, including:
Menu selection
Event flow
Venue setup and coordination
Build strong relationships with couples and planners to drive repeat and referral business
Revenue Optimization
Identify opportunities to increase revenue through:
Catering upgrades
Event enhancements
Add-on experiences
Support overall group revenue performance
Client Experience & Relationship Management
Deliver professional, high-touch service throughout the planning process
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Ensure expectations are clearly communicated and executed
Internal Coordination & Communication
Receive confirmed business from the Group Sales Manager and ensure a seamless transition
Coordinate and communicate all event details across:
Banquets Manager
Culinary & F&B
Guest Experience team
Front Office and Operations
Ensure all departments are fully aligned prior to group arrival
Event Execution Support
Be present on-site for key group arrivals and events
Support the Banquets Manager on complex or high-profile functions
Manage last-minute changes and client requests as needed
Administrative & Planning Oversight
Maintain accurate records of bookings, contracts, and client communications
Prepare event reports and post-event evaluations
Ensure all planning documentation is organized and up to date
EXPERIENCE / PASSIONS / EDUCATION
3–5+ years of experience in catering sales, event management, or hospitality.
Strong sales and closing ability.
Experience with weddings and/or group events preferred.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
