JOB OPPORTUNITY

2026-2027 Dwight Clubhouse Support Staff – 94th Street Campus

A clubhouse support staff position is available for the 2026/27 school year over at the new Dwight 94th Street campus. Dwight Club House is open to preschool 3s - grade 4. This daily drop-in program is designed to extend the day to 5:30 p.m. We seek someone to support students in a structured but relaxed alternative to our other after-school offerings. Students can read, play with friends, draw, and enjoy board games and gross motor activities.

Start Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - Friday, June 4, 2027.

Off Days: These are days when the school is closed per the school calendar and are not paid.

Salary Range: $20-$25 based on experience.

Hourly Position: 2:30–5:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a professional representative of Dwight School in all interactions with children, families, colleagues, and members of the school community.
  • Follow and uphold all Dwight School policies, procedures, and expectations outlined in the School Handbook and childcare program guidelines.
  • Provide active supervision at all times, remaining attentive to the location, safety, and needs of every child in your care.
  • Support the developmental, social-emotional, and academic needs of children across different age groups, from 3s through Grade 4.
  • Assist school-age students with homework when appropriate, providing guidance and encouragement while promoting independence.
  • Actively engage with children during play, activities, snack, homework time, transitions, and dismissal rather than supervising from a distance.
  • Establish and maintain clear, age-appropriate expectations, routines, and boundaries to create a safe, positive, and structured environment.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate, creative, and enriching activities, including arts and crafts, games, movement, literacy, and other hands-on experiences.
  • Support younger children with transitions and daily routines, encouraging independence while providing developmentally appropriate assistance as needed.
  • Promote positive behavior and respectful interactions by modeling appropriate communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Accurately track attendance and maintain awareness of all children assigned to your group throughout the program.
  • Follow all established arrival, dismissal, and authorized pick-up procedures, ensuring children are released only according to program protocols.
  • Regularly communicate accurate attendance and dismissal information to the front desk/security to support safe and efficient Clubhouse sign-out.
  • Immediately report any injuries, incidents, safety concerns, behavioral concerns, or other significant issues to the appropriate supervisor and follow required reporting procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming Clubhouse environment that supports children's learning, play, development, and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff members to ensure appropriate supervision, smooth transitions, and consistent expectations throughout the program.

Job Requirements:

  • Adhere to Article 48 Department of Health requirements, including but not limited to annual physical examination, immunization records, and child care training.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Essential physical requirements of the position include but are not limited to - standing for extended periods of time, use of stairs to move about the building, lifting and carrying materials and/or boxes up to 20 lbs.
