The Aftermarket Sales Lead will provide parts service and support information to authorized dealer organizations and customers, which will enable them to properly maintain their products. Participate actively in the streamlined process that enables the Aftermarket to provide support from beginning to end with an improved customer satisfaction rating. Foster a positive working relationship and effective communication with internal personnel, dealer representatives, and the customer to provide quality service in a timely manner. Work to achieve company goals, utilizing effective communication, and support all aspects of customer service in everyday business activities. Offer parts expertise support to the Account Representative, Shipping personnel, and Technical Support teams. Responsible for driving sales of replacement parts and components to customers by managing relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, developing sales strategies, and ensuring timely delivery of parts while maintaining a deep understanding of defense industry needs and regulations, often requiring expertise in specific equipment and systems.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned:

  • Closely review & analyze customer RFQ's, Contracts, and/or Purchase Orders to ensure that we can conform to the part(s) or kit(s) requested as well as adhering to the customer's Terms and Conditions.
  • Review, identify, and supply accurate parts identification information to maintain or repair our products in a timely manner. When necessary, coordinate information, parts, or service requirements with outside sources to provide excellent quote response times and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings to assist in determining the best course for the department to be successful and provide an environment for learning.
  • Responsible for documenting dealer inquiries and necessary information within the case management system.
  • Engage with other departments within the organization to build positive relationships and resolution to recurring issues, including Engineering, Purchasing, Account Representatives, Warranty, Publications, and Technical Support.
  • Support and work to achieve internal department key performance indicators.
  • Participate in training opportunities to develop skills to better understand products, current technology and/or product available to the field; as well as personal growth opportunities to excel at providing customer support.
  • Provide clerical and non-clerical duties within the department when necessary.
  • Manage and participate in current and future projects for the department as assigned by your manager. Keep a log of all current projects and provide updates on the progress requested.
  • Participate in cross functional teams and identify opportunities to support continuous improvement in the aftermarket parts supply chain.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including decision-makers and procurement officers, to understand their needs and proactively address them with relevant aftermarket parts solutions.
  • Sales Strategy Development:
  • Analyze market trends, identify potential customer segments, and develop targeted sales strategies to increase market penetration and revenue generation for defense aftermarket parts.
  • Proposal and Quotation Management:
  • Prepare and submit competitive proposals and quotations to customers, including pricing, delivery timelines, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with defense procurement guidelines. Quote review and approval per signing authority level.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of defense systems, components, and parts, including obsolescence management, to accurately address customer inquiries and identify suitable replacements.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
  • Develop sales forecasts, track sales performance against targets, and generate regular reports to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Market Analysis:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes within the defense aftermarket market to identify potential growth opportunities.
  • Pricing Strategy:
  • Collaborate with pricing teams to develop competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability for the company.
  • Lead Generation:
  • Actively seek out new business opportunities through networking, attending industry events, and participating in trade shows.
  • Customer Support:
  • Provide excellent customer service to resolve inquiries, address complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
  • Contact OEM’s to obtain bills of material and illustrations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and six (6) or more years of relevant experience (equivalent to twelve (12) years total in education and experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify customer needs and develop appropriate solutions
  • Ability to travel to visit customer sites and attend industry events
  • Project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project). Experience with ProPricer also a plus.
  • Strong technical aptitude, experience with vehicle maintenance parts.
  • Master's Degree in a related field or relevant equivalent work experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The following represents general working conditions for this office-based role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

  • This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature-controlled settings.
  • Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone.
  • Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required, along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary, including walking short distances, standing, or reaching for files.

Pay Range:

$82,900.00 - $134,300.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
