AfterQuery - Strategic Projects Lead - AI Safety
Summary
AfterQuery, an AI company building frontier LLM/agent datasets and data infrastructure for leading AI labs, is hiring an on-site Strategic Projects Lead for AI Safety in San Francisco. The role owns client relationships with AI labs, manages teams of domain experts to generate next-generation datasets, and drives research and operational initiatives as an early hire.
Compensation: $130K - $150K base (OTE $260K - $450K); meaningful equity
Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site, ~6 days/week)
What we're looking for: Highly driven individual with experience in a high-intensity environment like management consulting, investment banking, or a fast-paced startup. Comfortable owning client relationships and project execution end-to-end, with a track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines. Scrappy, hungry, willing to grind to push the frontiers of AI.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with the world's leading AI labs to generate next-generation datasets, directly generating revenue
- Manage teams of experts across domains like finance, software engineering, and sciences
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop groundbreaking AI research
- Drive initiatives across the company as an early hire
- Support the team across various operational initiatives
Requirements: 2+ years of experience in AI safety, red teaming, trust & safety, adversarial ML, or security research.
On-site: typically in office 6 days/week (FiDi, SF). Visa: open to transfers (OPT, H1B transfers); US-based preferred; no new H1Bs.
