Agent Engineer

Summary

Build and own AI agents and the web platform they run on for an AI-powered search tool serving health-focused e-commerce brands, using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, and Railway.

About the Role

We're a small, fast-moving seed-stage startup building an AI-powered "results-as-a-service" platform for health-focused e-commerce brands — helping them win visibility in both traditional and AI-driven search. We're looking for an Agent Engineer to design and build the AI agents at the heart of our product, as well as the web platform they operate within.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role. You'll shape architecture, set technical standards, and work directly with customers to deliver a product that users love and that scales as we grow. On-site in San Francisco; relocation assistance is available.

What You'll Do

  • Design and own the architecture of our agent infrastructure and the web platform built around it.

  • Establish and uphold technical standards across the codebase.

  • Ship full-stack features at pace, making pragmatic trade-offs between speed and technical debt.

  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their needs and translate them into an intuitive, high-quality product experience.

  • Work as a generalist across the stack — frontend, backend, integrations, and deployment.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proficiency with Tailwind CSS in React projects — you write clean, maintainable UI code.

  • Solid experience building and shipping web applications with React and TypeScript.

  • Hands-on experience integrating with Supabase backend services (auth, database, realtime, storage).

  • Experience deploying or hosting applications on Railway or comparable modern hosting platforms.

  • Prior experience in a startup or seed-stage environment — you're comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast.

  • Ability to engage directly with customers to help define architecture and technical direction.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building or working with AI agents or agentic workflows.

  • Background in e-commerce, SEO tools, or marketing analytics platforms.

  • Comfort owning product decisions end-to-end with minimal oversight.

Location

This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA. We prefer in-person collaboration. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and will be competitive for a seed-stage company. Equity is part of the package.
