Agent Operations Associate

Open 34d

Summary

Agent Operations Associate, Documents at Valerie Health, automates document workflows across customers, improving processes and increasing automation.

About the Company

Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies.

Why join us now?

  • Team: We are led by Pete Shalek (2x health tech exits, including a $600M acquisition by Optum) and Nitin Joshi (scaled Uber Eats + Health, Stripe Connect, and Bridge–acquired by Stripe for $1.1B). Beyond our founders, our team brings DNA from category leaders (Uber, Stripe, Meta), high-growth unicorns, and top consulting firms.

  • Trajectory: We partner with leading independent provider groups across the U.S., automating hundreds of thousands of tasks each month. Scaling at 7x year-over-year with 300% NRR as customers consistently expand usage.

  • Funding: We have raised $39m from world-class investors including Redpoint Ventures, General Catalyst, Primary Ventures, and BoxGroup.

About the role

As an Agent Operations Associate, you will help turn rapidly evolving AI models into reliable systems that handle real healthcare workflows at scale. You will support an assigned portfolio of document-agent workflows across build, launch readiness, and production performance.

You will learn how clinical and administrative documents move through provider organizations, then translate that operational reality into agent configurations, business rules, integrations, testing systems, and human-in-the-loop paths. You will partner closely with Customer Strategy, Operations, and Engineering, while gaining direct exposure to customers during workflow discovery, launches, and troubleshooting.

This is a high-learning, high-ownership role for early-career generalists who want responsibility for outcomes, not just recommendations. You will investigate performance in data, review task-level cases, test integrations, and help determine where automation can safely replace manual work.

What you’ll do

  • Execute implementation builds: Drive the build workstream for document-agent implementations, from workflow design and configuration through testing, launch readiness, and post-launch performance. Partner with Customer Strategy, which owns the overall customer implementation, to ensure the build meets customer requirements and timelines.

  • Design and Improve Workflows: Translate customer processes into reliable automated workflows, including document intake, interpretation, routing, downstream actions, and human-in-the-loop paths.

  • Monitor and identify: Build reporting, analyze performance, and prioritize opportunities based on where human-in-the-loop work consumes the most time.

  • Increase automation: Diagnose why tasks require human review and develop, test, and monitor improvements that safely move work toward automated completion.

  • Build the playbook: Document successful implementation and optimization approaches in repeatable processes, configurations, and testing methods that help the team scale.

About you

We expect candidates with 1-3 years of experience in consulting, analytics, operations, technical implementation, product, or related roles. Exceptional recent graduates with strong ownership are encouraged to apply.

You may be a strong fit if:

  • Learn unfamiliar systems quickly and enjoy understanding how complex processes fit together

  • Combine analytical rigor with practical execution and want to own implementation and results

  • Have strong technical instincts and are excited to build fluency in tools such as SQL, logs, APIs, integrations, and agent configuration

  • Communicate clearly with customers, operators, and engineers

  • Are willing to do detailed or manual work when it is the best way to understand and improve a system

What We Offer

  • Build at the forefront of applied AI, with meaningful ownership and rapid learning in an AI-native, high-growth startup

  • Competitive salary, equity and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and flexible PTO

  • SF Office: Daily catered lunch and dinner reimbursement
