The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, on site at our downtown Kansas City, MO office location.

Overview:

The Agent Relationship Manager serves as a dedicated relationship-management, internal sales support, and service-support resource for an assigned group of Ozark National Life captive career agents. This role focuses on building strong agent relationships, maintaining engagement, supporting business already in motion, and helping ensure continuity of service and client relationships across the field force.

While this is not a quota-carrying sales role, it contributes to business growth by fostering agent engagement, identifying opportunities for support, and helping agents remain productive and connected to the Home Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Home Office point of contact for an assigned group of captive career agents, building long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • Conduct regular outbound check-ins with assigned agents to maintain engagement and strengthen Home Office connections.
  • Monitor agent engagement and production trends and coordinate appropriate support and follow-up opportunities.
  • Develop and execute segmentation-based engagement strategies tailored to production activity, tenure, engagement levels, and product mix.
  • Create and implement communication plans and targeted outreach campaigns that support agent engagement and business activity.
  • Provide prompt and accurate support regarding products, illustrations, case status, commissions, and processing questions.
  • Assist agents with case consultation, paperwork preparation, product positioning, and illustration requests.
  • Coordinate book transitions, orphan-client assignments, and continuity of service initiatives.
  • Partner with underwriting, new business, contracting, licensing, commissions, and operations teams to resolve agent service issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of agent interactions, feedback, and ongoing service items within CRM and Home Office systems.
  • Prepare and deliver reporting on agent engagement, book health, service trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Identify recurring service challenges and administrative bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Support the implementation of approved operational and service enhancements.
  • Travel occasionally (approximately 5–10%) to support in-person meetings and field engagement activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, communications, or a related field; equivalent insurance industry experience may be considered.
  • 2–4 years of experience in insurance or financial services supporting agents, producers, agency operations, account management, or internal sales support.
  • Working knowledge of life insurance products; familiarity with mutual fund products and coordinated insurance-and-investment programs is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building, customer service, communication, and active-listening skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and maintain effective working relationships with experienced insurance agents.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, illustration tools, and administrative systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Active life insurance license preferred; ability to obtain a license after hire required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a captive or career-agency insurance distribution model.
  • Knowledge of agency operations, contracting, licensing, commissions, and field support functions.
  • Experience developing engagement campaigns, communication strategies, or relationship-management programs.
