Agile Coach (f/m/d)
The Agile Coach for the Investment Data Area drives the Area and its Squads in adopting and improving Agile practices, enhancing collaboration, efficiency and adherence to Agile principles. Through training (e.g., Agile ways of working, JIRA, etc), hands-on support and advice, Agile Coaches help Area management and Squads deliver high-quality products while adapting to changing business needs.
The Investment Data Area is the home for AllianzGI’s investment management data products, e.g. Benchmark & Market Index Data, Issuer & Security Information, Investment Key Figures, and Performance & Attribution Data.
As an Agile Coach you are embedded in AllianzGI’s Agile CoE and responsible for one Area. In close collaboration with the Area Business Lead and Area Tech Lead, you play a key role in transforming agile teams to stay focused on business outcomes and customer value while maintaining agile tool- and mindset. Embedding yourself within the teams with a hands-on approach, you help Agile Masters and Squads capitalise on the strengths of a scaled agile set-up and stay on a path of continuous improvement.
As an experienced consultant and change leader, you understand that Products differ in agile maturity and the importance of a common basis for the entire Area, including aligned Jira setups. You lead this journey, identifying opportunities and removing roadblocks, and bring Agile transformation into AllianzGI globally with the Agile CoE. Beyond coaching, you act as the Area’s hands-on delivery driver – diagnosing bottlenecks, structuring corrective action plans, and driving execution with the rigor of a consultant and the accountability of a delivery owner, even without formal reporting authority.
This role will be based in Frankfurt or Munich.
What you will do
- Agile Delivery Excellence: Own Area-level delivery performance – predictability, flow, throughput and business outcomes – intervening directly where Squads are off-track. Run the Area’s delivery governance cadence (e.g., Area Sync) and drive adoption of delivery practices, metrics and reporting that support data-driven decisions (incl. JIRA)
- Agile role model: Foster a culture of self-organizing, autonomous agile teams and act as the agile role model, guiding Squads in adopting agile principles and values
- Coaching: Act as trusted advisor and de facto delivery lead for the Area’s shared leadership team, working hand-in-hand with the Area Business Lead, Area Tech Lead, Chapter leads and Agile Masters
- Driving: Drive Area-level agile events such as the QBR, and regularly join Squad ceremonies with Agile Masters to actively unblock delivery, not just observe
- Agile impact: Enable Area Leads, POs, Agile Masters and teams to deliver significant business impact, including data-driven development of agile metrics and reporting (e.g., JIRA)
- Hands-on Squad Enablement: Provide hands-on support to Squads in establishing effective delivery practices: backlog management, planning, prioritisation, dependency management and delivery tracking in Jira
- Diagnostic & Advisory: Apply structured problem-solving to assess delivery maturity and operating-model gaps, translating findings into concrete, time-bound improvement plans – as an external consultant would
- Training: Coordinate and deliver training at all levels to increase agile awareness, ability to deliver change, and help create an agile mindset
What you bring
- Educational Background: Excellent university degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field, with a strong understanding of data-driven business strategies
- Asset Management Expertise: Deep passion for financial markets and understanding of the Asset Management value chain, front-to-back, is a differentiator
- Enabling Experience: 10+ years in an enabling role in business, consulting or IT
- Agile Expertise: Proven track record in agile ways of working and frameworks (SAFe, Kanban, LeSS, Design Thinking, etc.), with excellent JIRA and agile tool expertise (e.g., MIRO)
- Agile certification: An agile certification (e.g. Product Owner, Scrum Master, Kanban, etc.) and/or equivalent hands-on experience operationalising scaled agile frameworks
- Delivery Leadership: Proven experience improving delivery performance, predictability, transparency and execution within agile organisations, with strong understanding of flow-based delivery, dependency and backlog management. Comfortable driving decisions and holding teams accountable despite having no formal line authority
- Change Experience: Proven track record driving (agile) transformation, building teams and continuous improvement
- Consulting Skills: Structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving; strong executive communication and stakeholder management; ability to build business cases and influence decisions
- Data Proficiency: Significant experience in Data Governance or Data Management, with a focus on leveraging data to drive business outcomes, is a differentiator
- Tooling: Expert in Jira, Confluence and further agile tools (e.g., Miro) to support rapid, high-quality delivery
- Planning, Budgeting and Backlog Prioritization: Skill in driving quarterly planning cycles, managing budgets and enabling agile decision-making
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and German, with additional languages considered an advantage
- AI Skills such as Microsoft Copilot
