Agronomist

We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Agronomist to enhance soil productivity, fruit nutrition, and overall crop quality across our farms.

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring frequent farm visits, close collaboration with growers, and the implementation of best-in-class irrigation, fertigation, and fertilisation practices. You will play a critical role in standardising agronomic practices, conducting trials, and driving measurable improvements in yield, sustainability, and fruit quality — particularly within blueberry production. Key Performance Outputs:

Improve Fruit Quality & Yield
  • Optimise fertilisation and treatment strategies to enhance flavour, appearance, and uniformity
  • Increase marketable yield and extend harvest periods
  • Strengthen plant resilience to pests, diseases, and environmental stress
Soil Productivity & Water Management
  • Improve soil health indicators (organic matter, nutrients, pH balance)
  • Enhance water-use efficiency and irrigation effectiveness
  • Monitor sustainability metrics to reduce environmental impact

Monitoring, Trials & Data Analysis

  • Conduct and manage agronomic trials
  • Analyse yield and quality data to refine strategies
  • Continuously adjust fertilization and irrigation programs based on results
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations

Training & Standardization

  • Provide technical guidance and training to growers and production managers
  • Drive adoption of best agronomic practices
  • Standardise farming protocols across all farms
  • Monitor compliance and performance metrics to ensure consistency

Requirements

  • BSc in Horticulture (Postgraduate qualification in Agronomy preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant agronomy experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Blueberry experience (advantageous)
