Summary
Analyst programmer/system analyst supporting AI and Generative AI projects for the Hong Kong Fire Services: evaluating and deploying LLM solutions (model serving, RAG, vector databases), running AI infrastructure on Linux, virtualized/containerized and GPU environments, and coordinating vendors and users. Requires 4+ years IT experience, incl. 2+ years in AI/ML.
Salary: $45,000 – $65,000 per month
Project Nature:
To assist the Systems Manager in planning, designing, implementing and managing artificial intelligence (AI) and Generative AI projects in the Fire Services. This position will provide technical and project support covering AI infrastructure, computing hardware, Large Language Models (LLMs), model deployment and serving, open-source AI technologies, system integration, performance evaluation, security, capacity planning and ongoing operation of AI solutions.
The staff will participate in the evaluation and implementation of different AI technologies and solutions, and may be assigned to other AI-related or application-related IT projects according to operational needs.
Job Descriptions:
Assist in planning, designing, implementing, and supporting AI, Generative AI, and related IT projects within the Department.
Evaluate, deploy, integrate, and maintain AI/LLM solutions, including model serving, RAG, vector databases, APIs, and open-source AI technologies.
Perform installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of AI platforms and infrastructure in Linux, virtualized, and containerized environments.
Conduct technical studies, proof-of-concepts, benchmarking, capacity planning, and assessments of AI models, hardware (CPU/GPU/NPU), software platforms, and security controls.
Prepare technical documentation, procurement specifications, evaluation reports, and coordinate with users, contractors, vendors, and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
To coordinate with user divisions, internal IT teams, contractors, vendors and service providers on requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, testing, deployment and ongoing support of AI solutions.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years' post-qualification IT experience, including at least 2 years in AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, LLMs, or related technologies. Less experience will be considered as Analyst Programmer
Hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, integrating, or supporting AI/LLM solutions, with practical knowledge of Linux, Python, APIs, and container technologies.
Good understanding of AI infrastructure and technologies, including LLMs, model serving, open-source AI frameworks, GPU-based computing, performance optimization, and AI security.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills, with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Experience in implementing AI solutions, AI security or AI infrastructure in large-scale environments will be an advantage.
