In response to the expansion into new emerging areas in recent years, the ASTM Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET) Division is exploring the convergence of Additive Manufacturing and other emerging technologies such as Robotics, automation and autonomous system, Artificial intelligence and Machine learning (AI &ML) targeting towards applications in Advanced Manufacturing. Through collaboration among industry, government, and academia, ASTM CET Division addresses not only the need for accelerated standards development models to help qualify these growing markets but also the personnel training and certification programs needed for those now tasked with a more diverse set of responsibilities. The AM CoE conducts R&D projects, technology road mapping sessions, strategic guidance reportsas well as landscape analysis to help organizations adopt AM andother Advanced Manufacturing technologies. Some of these projects area result of cross-continent efforts coordinated and supported by the AMCoE. We are seeking a AI & Data Engineer to join the AM CoE's Market Intelligence team. The AI & Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain AI and data tools that support the team's research and analysis, help automate the production of intelligence deliverables, and power AI features on the team's digital platform. ASTM International's Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET) Division convenes industry, government, and academia, accelerating the path to standards for the technologies reshaping the global economy. The division engages these technologies at the intersections where standards are needed most, which creates the opportunity to develop standards alongside technologies rather than years after they have spread across society. Its work runs in three stages: pre-standardization gap identification, consensus-based standardization, and post-standardization adoption support. Its technical committees cover additive and advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence in manufacturing systems, autonomous systems and robotics, commercial spaceflight, and unmanned aircraft systems, delivered through the ASTM AM Center of Excellence, the ASCET Center of Excellence, Wohlers Associates, and the ICAM conference. Roughly 60 staff operate across 12 timezones and four continents. The division moves at the pace of the industries it serves, and it holds the work to the evidence.
