ABOUT SBC

Are you ready to be part of something bigger?

At SBC, we are not just shaping the future of Gaming and Entertainment — we’re redefining it.

From our humble beginnings in 2009 with informal meetups in London pubs, we’ve evolved into an events, media, tech, and entertainment global powerhouse. We now unite the brightest minds from the casino, sports betting, marketing, and fintech industries and create transformative experiences that drive innovation.

SBC organises industry-defining events and gatherings in iconic destinations such as Lisbon, Florida, Rio de Janeiro, London, Toronto, Las Vegas, Barcelona, Malta, and Tbilisi. Our events attract a yearly delegation of 100,000 decision-makers and innovators who come together to drive their industries forward.

But SBC isn’t just hosting game-changing events — we’re also a key player in media, entertainment, and tech. We deliver timely news,

insights, and trends to the gaming and fintech industries through our respected publications, podcasts, and digital platforms.

Our events feature celebrity keynotes from icons like Michael Jordan, Tony Hawk, and Sir Tim Berners-Lee, as well as the now-famous INFINITY parties headlined by world-renowned DJs such as Tiësto, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Don Diablo, Miss Monique, Dubdogz, and Darude.

We have developed our own state-of-the-art event app and community platform, SBC Connect, through our in-house tech team, which allows us to host digital conferences for delegates around the world.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join SBC as our new AI and Systems Integrations Lead! This role offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth, giving you the chance to design our cross-system integration architecture from the ground up and pioneer the use of AI across our entire business.

We provide fully remote work with a competitive salary of up to £4,900 per month plus an annual discretionary bonus of up to 5% of your annual fee. You'll also enjoy 23 days of paid annual leave, in addition to all Polish public holidays. Apply now and be a part of a high-growth, innovative company in the Sports Betting industry!

SBC’s digital ecosystem is much more than a collection of websites — it’s a rapidly growing portfolio of proprietary platforms, SaaS tools, and media products that sit at the core of our events and content businesses.

Our in-house tech operation includes an experienced, Poland-based team of software developers working in close collaboration with our London-based Group Product Manager and Data Steering Committee. Together, they build and maintain a wide array of systems, websites, and software platforms — more than 30 in total — that support and power every area of the business.

At the heart of our daily operations is a complex web of interconnected platforms. You will take ownership of the critical integrations bridging our key systems, including NetSuite, HubSpot, Bizzabo, and our proprietary attendee app, SBC Connect.

Your role will be crucial in uniting this complex, evolving ecosystem. Your expertise will be essential in establishing exactly how our systems communicate and how we leverage artificial intelligence to automate and augment our workflows. As the first specialist and process owner in this area, you will have a unique opportunity to define integration standards, map our data flows, and build our AI capabilities from scratch. Your insights and hands-on technical skills will play a key role in shaping our architectural direction and making sure our systems work together seamlessly.

As SBC grows, so will the scope of our internal technology. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to grow right alongside the company. While you will initially operate as a highly impactful solo lead reporting directly to the CTO, you will have the active support of our existing development team to help deliver these integrations. Furthermore, as the scale of our systems expands, there is strong potential for this role to evolve and for your own team to grow, allowing you to take on direct reports across various technical or analytical roles. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to significantly impact our operational efficiency and advance your career by embedding cutting-edge AI and flawless data architecture at the heart of our tech stack.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own cross-system integrations

  • Act as the process owner and lead technical practitioner for systems integration across the company on behalf of the Technology Department, ensuring that connection identities, contracts between systems, data flow rules, and integration patterns are defined consistently across the estate rather than per-system in isolation.

  • Maintain the integration map of the company: every system-to-system connection currently in operation, including automated integrations, manual bridges (people copying data between systems), scheduled exports, and ad-hoc scripts, together with the systems that should connect but currently do not.

  • Maintain the diagnosis of each connection: what works, what fails, the business cost of the gap, and the criticality and fragility ranking, refreshed as the estate changes.

  • Define and maintain integration standards: API contracts, event schemas, error handling, retry and idempotency rules, observability of data flows, and the rules for when a connection runs as a real-time exchange, scheduled transfer, or batch.

  • Set the architectural direction for integrations going forward: direct system-to-system connections versus centralised integration tooling (iPaaS or equivalent), with the choice for each connection documented and revisited as the estate evolves.

  • Specify integration requirements for new systems being introduced into the estate before contracts are signed, so integration cost is visible at the point of commitment rather than after delivery.

Deliver integration and AI work

  • Build integrations and AI features hands-on as the primary implementer: write production code, design and implement APIs and event flows, build data transformations, write tests, instrument observability, and deploy to production.

  • Lead the delivery of integration and AI initiatives end-to-end: solution design, implementation, testing, rollout, and post-rollout monitoring.

  • Run all integration and AI initiatives through the Projects Office for visibility and capacity coordination.

  • Execute initiatives in the mode that best fits the work: building directly as the implementer (the default for integration and AI initiatives where the Lead is the strongest technical fit), pairing with developers from the Development Department, or specifying and overseeing work delivered by the development team (where the work is standard engineering rather than integration or an AI specialism).

  • Operate the integration layer and AI features once in production: monitor health, debug failing data flows in production logs, lead incident response for failures, and feed improvements back into the backlog.

  • Coordinate with system owners across the business (finance, marketing, sales, events, and others as the estate evolves) on integration and AI changes affecting their systems.

  • Propagate AI knowledge and implementation practices to the Development Department: share patterns, tools, and lessons from delivered AI initiatives, and support developers in applying AI capabilities in their own work.

Contribute to the preparation pipeline

  • Participate in shaping initiatives that touch the integration layer or use AI: solution sketching, identification of main technical risks and external dependencies, integration test scenarios, kill criteria, and T-shirt sizing, working with the Technical Leads and QA.

  • Provide technical input to High-Level Specs where integration or AI is material, alongside the Group Product Manager and Business Stakeholders.

  • Translate business intent on cross-system processes and AI-augmented workflows into requirements that the development teams can deliver against.

ABOUT YOU

You must have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, backed by a strong track record (ideally 4+ years) in backend development, systems architecture, or integration engineering.

  • Strong hands-on coding skills in modern backend languages suited for integration and AI work to write production-ready scripts and data transformations.

  • Deep understanding of web services, MCP servers, API contracts (REST, GraphQL), webhooks, and event-driven architectures, etc.

  • Hands-on experience working with LLMs and AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and a solid understanding of how to integrate AI tools securely and effectively into business processes.

  • Experience designing resilient data flows, including error handling, retry logic, idempotency, and observability across multiple platforms.

  • The ability to work independently as a technical lead, debug complex data flow issues in production, and take end-to-end ownership of cross-system projects.

  • Excellent English proficiency (B2/C1 level) to effectively collaborate with the UK/US team.
