AI-Assisted Materials Engineering Intern
Description
Logitech is the sweet spot for people who are passionate about products, making a mark, and having fun doing it. As a company, we’re small and flexible enough for every person to take initiative and make things happen. But we’re big enough in our portfolio and reach for those actions to have a global impact. That’s a pretty sweet spot to be in and we’re always striving to keep it that way.
The Role
We are seeking an AI-Assisted Materials Engineering Intern to help pioneer how we discover, optimize, and validate next-generation sustainable materials for Logitech hardware.
In this role, your primary identity is a materials engineer—driven by a curiosity for circular plastics, low-carbon resins, and sustainable material alternatives. Instead of relying solely on traditional trial-and-error, you will experiment with AI agents as an intelligent co-engineer throughout the development loop, helping our engineering team move faster from initial ideas to physically validated materials that meet real consumer electronics standards.
Your Contribution
Be Yourself. Be Open. Stay Hungry and Humble. Collaborate. Challenge. Decide and just Do. In this role, you will experiment with an agent-assisted materials workflow across three key phases:
- Discover: Use AI agents to explore technical literature, material databases, and external data to identify promising low-carbon and durable candidates.
- Optimize: Set engineering criteria (such as strength, durability, and moldability) and leverage agent workflows to evaluate trade-offs and recommend viable material options.
- Validate: Connect digital insights to the physical world by planning lab tests, evaluating physical specimens, and using test findings to guide the next iteration.
- Collaborate: Partner with Sustainability, Materials, and CMF (Color, Material, Finish) Engineering teams across the Logitech R&D Center to see how sustainable materials fit real-world products.
