AI & Automation Engineer

We are seeking a talented AI & Automation Engineer to drive the development of innovative AI-enabled solutions that deliver measurable customer and business value.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable production applications across the full technology stack, including backend services, data platforms, and user-facing interfaces.
• Build and implement GenAI solutions that convert unstructured supplier and market information into structured, actionable data, including factory specifications, technical documents, quotations, product catalogues, and competitor intelligence.
• Develop intelligent product-matching capabilities that compare OEM products with competitor offerings where no common product identifier exists, enabling better pricing, assortment, sourcing, and commercial decision-making.
• Design, integrate, and maintain external data feeds from multiple sources, including commodity prices, freight costs, import duties, foreign exchange rates, competitor product ranges, and market pricing data.
• Ensure the secure and compliant handling of personal, commercial, and sensitive business data in accordance with company policies, information security standards, and Hong Kong privacy regulations.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Hong Kong and the Group to understand business challenges, identify root causes, and rapidly deliver practical, value-driven technology solutions.
• Contribute to the development of high-quality, secure, and maintainable solutions by following established engineering standards, including code reviews, architecture governance, testing, and security best practices.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience developing and operating scalable Data and AI solutions in a production environment.
• Proven track record of delivering applications end-to-end, covering backend development, data engineering, and user-facing interfaces.
• Strong experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs) in real-world business scenarios, including information extraction from unstructured documents, generating structured outputs, and evaluating output quality and reliability for operational use.
• Experience with embeddings, semantic search, entity resolution, or product matching solutions, with the ability to apply modern AI techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Proficient in Python and SQL, with the ability to develop, test, and maintain production-quality solutions.
• Strong business engagement skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and translate proposed solutions into clearly defined business problems and requirements.
• Experience designing and implementing human-in-the-loop workflows, ensuring AI-driven solutions incorporate appropriate review, validation, and decision-making processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a pragmatic approach to balancing technical excellence and business value.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional and international teams.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving business priorities.
