AI Bioinformatics Data Engineer for Genomic Annotation

University of Liverpool is recruiting an AI Bioinformatics Data Engineer for the Wellcome Trust Discovery Award project. The role focuses on agentic AI pipelines and large-scale data analysis to infer gene and protein function from the VEuPathDB knowledgebase.

The position is available for 1 year in the first instance. A Masters in bioinformatics or related fields is required, with strong Python skills and API experience integrating frontier LLMs. AlphaFold3 knowledge is advantageous.
