AI & Data Integration Engineer

Location: Philippines, with regular on-site support at SteelAsia Calaca Plant

Role Summary

We are looking for an AI + Data Integration Engineer to support the implementation and delivery of an industrial AI Scrap Grading solution in the Philippines.

The role will focus on AI data workflows, system integration, API integration, camera/video data, model training support, UAT, and on-site troubleshooting. The engineer will work closely with iSoftStone, Huawei Cloud, and SteelAsia teams.

This is not a pure AI research role. The ideal candidate should understand AI/Computer Vision concepts while also being capable of handling practical system and data integration tasks in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support on-site implementation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of the AI Scrap Grading System.
• Manage and validate data flows between cameras, AI systems, customer applications, and Huawei Cloud platforms.
• Support image/video data collection, data quality checking, and preparation of datasets for AI model training and optimization.
• Coordinate training data feedback and model tuning activities with the Huawei Cloud AI/algorithm team.
• Support REST API integration, system interfaces, and data exchange with SteelAsia systems.
• Monitor camera, network, server, storage, and image transmission environments related to the AI solution.
• Support PAC, UAT, and FAC activities, including test execution, issue tracking, evidence collection, and technical documentation.
• Investigate system, data, API, and AI inference issues and coordinate resolution with relevant technical teams.
• Work with SteelAsia IT, Operations, and grading experts to understand business requirements and operational conditions.
• Support user training, technical workshops, and project documentation.
• Provide regular technical status updates and elevate implementation risks to the project manager.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software integration, data engineering, AI implementation, system integration, or similar technical roles.
• Good working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and system integration.
• Working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Basic understanding of AI / Machine Learning / Computer Vision, including:
• model training and inference;
• image datasets;
• data labeling;
• model accuracy and validation;
• AI model tuning concepts.
• Experience handling image or video data is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot integration issues across software, network, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Good English communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and multinational technical teams.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work on-site at the SteelAsia Calaca Plant.

Preferred Experience

• Industrial AI, manufacturing, steel, mining, logistics, or computer vision projects.
• Camera, CCTV, VMS, RTSP/video-stream integration.
• Cloud or private cloud environments.
• Huawei Cloud, HCS, or similar cloud platforms.
• AI inference servers or GPU-based AI systems.
• API integration with ERP, MES, production, or enterprise systems.
• Experience supporting UAT, PAC/FAC, or formal project acceptance processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on integration engineer who understands AI, rather than a pure AI scientist.

You should be comfortable working across:

and be able to translate technical issues between the customer, iSoftStone, and Huawei Cloud teams.
