AI Database Engineer

We're looking for a Production-First Database Engineer to own our largest data footprint (SQL Server) while building agentic AI that automates database operations.

What you'll do
- Be the SQL Server SME: High Availability (AlwaysOn), performance tuning and disaster recovery.
- Build autonomous AI agents (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen) for incident triage, log analysis and self-healing workflows.
- Create AI-driven tools on internal APIs and telemetry to remove manual toil, with strict production guardrails.

What you bring
- 5+ years running mission-critical SQL Server: internals, locking and optimization.
- Experience building at least one AI automation, and the ability to discuss the models and frameworks behind it (beyond API calls).
- Strong Python/scripting and cloud-native databases on AWS or Azure.
- C1 English.

Not an ML research, prompting or reactive DBA role: this is engineering focused on systemic improvements.
