AI Engineer / Software Integrator

Discussion

About Us

New Home Care is an innovative, rapidly growing Aged Care and NDIS provider based in Eastwood, Sydney. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional, compliant, and deeply personalized care to older Australians. As the industry evolves, we are actively leveraging cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence to streamline our operations, automate administrative workflows, and empower our team to focus entirely on what matters most: our clients.

Role Overview

We are seeking an agile, sharp, and highly practical AI Engineer / Software Integrator to join our team. Unlike rigid corporate roles, this position offers high autonomy and the chance to make an immediate impact.

Your mission will be two-fold: quickly master and map out the software systems and processes we currently use, and then design and deploy smart AI programs that sit on top of them. You will be directly responsible for bringing cutting-edge AI capabilities—such as Claude’s Model Context Protocol (MCP)—into the real-world operational environment of home aged care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapid System Onboarding: Quickly learn, reverse-engineer, and document the workflows of all software systems currently developed and utilized by New Home Care.

  • Aged Care AI Application: Identify operational bottlenecks (e.g., document processing, scheduling optimization, client address updates, or compliance tracking) and build AI tools or scripts to solve them.

  • Real-World MCP Implementation: Design and implement production-ready AI tools utilizing Claude’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) and other modern orchestration frameworks to securely connect LLMs with our local data sources and existing software ecosystems.

  • Bridge the Gap: Create seamless, automated pipelines that complement our primary software platforms without disrupting daily care operations.

What You’ll Bring (Requirements)

  • Fast-Learner Mindset: A proven track record of entering an unfamiliar software environment and mastering its structure, APIs, and data flows quickly without extensive hand-holding.

  • Practical AI/ML Programming Experience: Hands-on experience developing actual, deployed AI applications. You know how to move beyond basic API prompts to build functional, resilient tools.

  • Cutting-Edge Protocol Knowledge: Deep familiarity or direct experience with Claude MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar context-sharing protocols, demonstrating you know how to build secure, bidirectional connections between AI models and local databases/development environments.

  • Aged Care Empathy: An understanding of (or a strong willingness to learn) the compliance, privacy, and operational nuances of the Australian Aged Care and NDIS sectors.

  • Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js. Experience with API integration, secure data handling, and lightweight automation scripting.

Why Join New Home Care?

  • Direct Impact: You aren't a cog in a massive corporate machine. Your code and AI tools will directly improve the lives of care workers and elderly clients.

  • True Innovation: Work directly with leadership to pioneer real-world AI applications (like MCP) that most traditional companies are only talking about.

  • Convenient Location: Based in the vibrant Eastwood area with a flexible, supportive team culture.
