About The Role

As a GenAI Applied Research and Data Scientist, you will investigate, design, and evaluate techniques across the rapidly developing field of Large Language Models (LLMs). Your areas of focus may include multimodal LLMs, agentic AI, fine-tuning, model distillation, inference optimization, test-time scaling, and reasoning models. You will take ideas from research through experimentation and implementation, assessing their effectiveness, limitations, and suitability for practical applications. The role involves working with complex datasets, building and evaluating models, and sharing findings with technical and business stakeholders. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore how research can be integrated into new and existing products.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts, along with practical experience developing, training, fine-tuning, or evaluating AI models. Knowledge of current LLM architectures and generative AI methods is important, as is familiarity with techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation, multimodal learning, or model optimization. Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and commonly used machine learning frameworks, are expected. The ideal candidate can design rigorous experiments, interpret results, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines. A record of research contributions, publications, presentations, or applied AI projects is an advantage. Experience mentoring junior researchers or data scientists is also beneficial.

Responsibilities

Conduct applied research in generative AI, with emphasis on current developments in LLMs and related technologies. Develop and implement approaches for multimodal models, agentic AI systems, fine-tuning, distillation, inference optimization, test-time scaling, and reasoning. Design experiments, establish evaluation methods, analyze results, and document conclusions to support sound technical decisions. Prepare and process complex datasets for research and model development, while considering data quality and suitability. Work with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams to integrate promising AI capabilities into products and services. Communicate research findings through technical documentation, presentations, and, where appropriate, publications or conference contributions. Track developments in AI and machine learning, assess their relevance, and recommend opportunities for further investigation. Share knowledge with the wider team and provide guidance to junior researchers and data scientists.
