AI Engineer

This role is for an experienced AI Engineer. The role requires experience designing and developing solutions for large-scale organisations. We are seeking someone with technical skills across a variety of technologies to contribute to developing and delivering early proofs of concept and production implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end AI-powered applications and services.
• Design, develop, test and deploy secure, scalable and reusable AI and Intelligent Automation solutions using approved enterprise platforms and technologies, ensuring alignment with architecture, security, DevSecOps and Responsible AI standards.
• Build and integrate LLMs and multi-agent systems using frameworks like Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or similar.
• Design and implement front-end interfaces for AI applications using modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js and Angular.
• Integrate front-end components with AI APIs and backend services using REST and GraphQL.
• Work with Business Analysts and business SMEs to translate business requirements into production-ready AI solutions, integrating AI models, intelligent document processing, automation workflows and enterprise systems to deliver measurable business value.
• Collaborate with data engineers, UX designers, product managers and QA teams to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
• Apply MLOps practices for model deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Operate and continuously improve AI solutions throughout their lifecycle, including performance monitoring, optimisation, technical documentation, knowledge transfer and adoption of emerging Microsoft AI capabilities to maximise the value and sustainability of the AI & Intelligent Automation platform.
• Build intuitive, accessible and standards-compliant UIs for GenAI applications.
• Support junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Maintain clear documentation on AI models, including strengths, limitations and data-driven justifications.
• Ensure secure and compliant development of AI systems in line with GDPR, EU AI Act and Responsible AI guidelines.

Essential experience

• 4–6 years’ experience in the applications development lifecycle.
• Experience in backend development for AI applications and orchestration of LLMs or multi-agent systems.

Desirable experience

• Experience with design tools and systems such as Figma and Storybook.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud ML services such as Azure ML or AWS SageMaker.
• Experience in front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and frameworks such as React, Vue.js or Angular.
• Knowledge of API integration, REST, GraphQL and backend service orchestration.
• Experience in prompt engineering and working with multiple AI models.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum practices and application lifecycle management in a .NET environment.
• Experience in automated testing, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Understanding of AI security best practices and regulatory compliance, including GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Salary Range: 45,000/Year - 55,000/Year
