AI Forward Deployed Engineer

Role Summary

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will operate at the intersection of advanced AI software engineering, product strategy, and operational business transformation. The FDE sits on the front lines—embedding directly with business and supporting departments across our subsidiaries to diagnose high-impact operational friction, design new human-AI workflows, and rapidly deploy production-ready AI agents.

In addition to building software, you will act as an internal execution catalyst and technical coach—working side-by-side with our existing IT developers to upskill the team, establish modern AI development standards, and accelerate our transition into an AI-native enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and deploy multi-agent workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using modern frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Model Context Protocol) connected to enterprise systems (D365, CRM, publishing systems).

• Partner with business leaders to audit current operations, design new human-AI collaborative workflows, and build ROI-driven project charters.

• Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks (e.g., DeepEval, Ragas) and tracing tools (LangSmith) to continuously measure AI agent performance, accuracy, hallucination rates, and business output quality.

• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with internal developers in pair programming sessions, teaching them how to leverage AI coding tools and agent architectures to build in-house software capabilities.

• Analyze operational data and measure the quantitative impact (time savings, cost reduction) of deployed AI solutions to demonstrate clear business value to executive stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or AI-related fields.

• At least 8 years software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years AI/LLM implementation experience in enterprise environment.

• Hands-on experience with a proven track record of designing and implementing AI workflows, AI agents, automation platforms, self-service portals, or digital customer/user experience solutions.

• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering large-scale technology projects.

• Experience with vector databases (Pgvector, Qdrant) and hybrid search mechanisms.

• Familiarity with enterprise API integrations, REST/gRPC, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Strong business sense with an ROI mindset—able to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of bridging non-technical business departments and technical IT teams.

• Passion for mentoring and coaching traditional engineers into AI-fluent developers.

• Fluent in Cantonese and English.
