AI Governance Lead
Responsibilities
- Define AI policy authority, including permitted and prohibited uses
- Establish decision rights for AI autonomy and human-in-the-loop requirements
- Create AI use case intake processes and risk classification frameworks
- Develop accountability frameworks mapping to existing corporate structures
- Define governance for third-party and vendor AI procurement and assessment
- Build an integrated operating model with existing Data Governance functions
- Serve as a primary governance advisor to VP and Director-level stakeholders
- Lead engagement teams, roadmaps, and deliverables from development to adoption
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of experience in enterprise data governance, model risk management, or corporate governance
- Proven experience setting policy and accountability frameworks at enterprise scale
- Deep understanding of authority and decision rights in large enterprises
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders across technical and business domains
- Strong executive communication skills for senior leadership engagement
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Risk, Law, Business, or a related field
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals
- Direct experience building AI Governance practices
- Hands-on experience with the EU AI Act
- Knowledge of NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001
- Familiarity with generative and agentic AI risks such as hallucination and prompt injection
