AI & Industrial Automation Engineer
About the role
EBER Petrochemical Group is seeking an AI & Industrial Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in South Jakarta. This is a full-time position that combines cutting-edge artificial intelligence with industrial automation to drive operational excellence across our facilities. As an AI & Industrial Automation Engineer, you will play a strategic role in modernising our industrial processes, implementing intelligent systems, and optimising production efficiency. Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement AI-driven automation solutions for industrial processes and manufacturing operations
- Create and optimise automated control systems using industrial engineering principles and cutting-edge technologies
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for automation projects, identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Develop machine learning models and algorithms to enhance predictive maintenance, quality control and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance and IT to integrate automation solutions into existing systems
- Monitor, test and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Document technical specifications, system architecture and standard operating procedures for all automation implementations
- Provide training and technical support to operational staff on new automated systems and technologies
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI and automation technologies to identify opportunities for competitive advantage
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial automation, process automation or industrial engineering roles
- Demonstrated expertise in AI and machine learning applications, with proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, Keras or similar frameworks
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems and HMI (Human-Machine Interfaces)
- Experience with automation software platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, ABB or equivalent industrial systems
- Solid understanding of industrial processes, manufacturing workflows and operational efficiency principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Project management capabilities with experience leading automation implementation initiatives
- Preferred experience with IoT technologies, big data analytics, or energy sector automation
- Professional certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Certified Industrial Engineer (CIE) are advantageous
