Summary
ML engineer in Tuas (Singapore) building anomaly-detection models for shipboard machinery and supporting an enterprise AI assistant: time-series sensor data cleaning/feature engineering, model training and alarm tuning, in-house LLM platform serving/GPU monitoring, and Python/JavaScript/SQL web apps and APIs. PyTorch/TensorFlow; training provided.
Salary: $3,500 – $4,300 per month
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and maintaining anomaly detection models and applications for shipboard machinery.
Perform data cleaning, feature engineering and analysis on time-series sensor data from vessel equipment.
Support model training, evaluation and alarm threshold tuning, and document results for review.
Support the enterprise AI diagnostic assistant: document ingestion, embedding generation and retrieval testing.
Assist in deploying and operating the in-house LLM platform, including model serving and GPU monitoring.
Build and maintain web applications and APIs (Python, JavaScript, SQL) to deliver AI outputs to users.
Prepare technical documentation and test reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Perform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the team lead and department manager.
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related field.
Strong Python skills; working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript is required for the web and API work.
Understanding of machine learning fundamentals: model training, evaluation metrics and validation.
Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn.
Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow through coursework, FYP, internships or personal projects.
Able to use AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) effectively to speed up development, and to review and test the generated code.
Comfortable with Linux and Git.
Exposure to LLMs, RAG or vector databases is an advantage.
