AI/ML Software Developer – Applied AI Solutions (all genders)
Summary
Develop AI/ML solutions for photovoltaic monitoring and energy management, including conversational agents and document processing, using Python, LLMs, and backend services.
- Design, develop, and deploy software solutions with a strong focus on AI, machine learning, and large language model-based applications in the photovoltaic monitoring and energy management domain.
- Build and integrate conversational agents that allow users to interact with business, operational, or technical data using natural language.
- Develop solutions for Intelligent Document Processing, including extraction, classification, validation, and structuring of information from different document types.
- Connect AI/ML components with existing systems, APIs, databases, cloud services, and internal applications.
- Evaluate and integrate suitable AI technologies, including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, OCR, document AI, and traditional machine learning models.
- Design robust backend services and APIs that make AI capabilities available to users and other applications.
- Collaborate closely with domain experts, product owners, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to turn AI ideas into production-ready solutions.
- Ensure that AI solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, observable, and aligned with company standards.
- Continuously improve solution quality through testing, monitoring, user feedback, and model or prompt evaluation.
- Successfully completed degree in computer science ideally with subjects in mathematics, statistics, machine learning or comparable studies.
- Several years of professional experience with software development in current programming languages, especially Python.
- Experience in backend software development, including APIs and service integration.
- Solid understanding of machine learning and AI concepts.
- Practical experience with large language models and AI-powered applications.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and conversational AI systems.
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, semantic search, or vector databases.
- Experience with Intelligent Document Processing, OCR, NLP, or information extraction.
- Good knowledge of SQL, databases, and data access patterns.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment workflows.
- Understanding of software quality, clean code, testing, and maintainable architecture.
- Awareness of AI risks, including hallucinations, data privacy, security, and reliability.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Good communication skills in English (German is a plus) and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
