AI Network & Security Engineer - Data Centre
We are looking for an AI Network & Security Engineer to support the network and security infrastructure behind large-scale AI/GPU computing platforms, data centres and cloud services.
This role combines strong enterprise networking and security fundamentals with next-generation AI networking technologies such as NVIDIA InfiniBand, Spectrum Ethernet and RoCEv2.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain network infrastructure supporting AI/GPU clusters and data centre environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers and firewalls across Juniper, NVIDIA Spectrum/Cumulus Linux and Fortinet platforms.
- Support compute, storage, management, OOB and customer connectivity.
- Perform cabling, optics, port mapping and physical network validation during cluster deployments.
- Monitor network availability, throughput, latency, utilisation and errors.
- Troubleshoot network issues involving ports, cables, transceivers, NICs and hosts.
- Manage network and security incidents from initial triage through resolution.
- Support firewall policies, network segmentation, VPN, NAT and ACL configuration.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security hardening and network security assessments.
- Assist with network automation using Python, Ansible, APIs and DCIM.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, SOPs and troubleshooting runbooks.
- Support network deployments, maintenance and infrastructure expansion.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of network engineering experience, preferably in data centre, cloud, service provider or large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, BGP and high-availability networking.
- Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with enterprise firewalls, preferably Fortinet/FortiGate.
- Strong understanding of VPNs, ACLs, network segmentation and security policies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with network monitoring, incident management, RCA and change management.
- Exposure to data centre environments, structured cabling and optics.
- Knowledge of NVIDIA InfiniBand, Spectrum Ethernet and/or RoCE is an advantage.
