AI Product Manager
Summary
Owns part of Different's AI-agent product for marketing work — from customer discovery, specs and evals to prototyping with AI tools and measuring launch outcomes. Requires 3–5 years of PM experience, data fluency and strong AI-model literacy; on-site in Bengaluru 5 days/week.
The role
You will own a major part of the product, from understanding customer problems and deciding what to build to prototyping, shipping and measuring outcomes.
We are building a system where AI agents take on increasingly complex marketing work. You will help define what these agents should do, how marketers interact with them and how we make the system reliable enough for customers to trust with real business decisions. You will work closely with engineering, design and our customer-facing teams. We value PMs who can think strategically, build working prototypes and own making solutions working production rather than just writing specs.
What you'll work on
Roadmap: own one or more product areas, grounded in customer conversations, usage data and the company's goals.
Customers: work with the people who buy the product, the people who use it daily and our customer-facing teams, and bring their feedback, both implicit and explicit, into every decision.
Specs: write short, clear specs that state the problem, the user and how we'll know it worked.
Evals: craft evals for open-ended problems and scenarios: define what good output looks like, build the example sets, and decide what happens when the model is wrong.
Prototypes: prototype ideas with AI tools to test them with users, and help ship them to production with engineering.
Outcomes: set success metrics for each launch, check them after release, and decide what to change.
AI workflows - design how agents, tools and marketers work together to complete complex tasks, including when the system should act autonomously, ask for approval or recover from failures.
What we're looking for
- 3–5 years of product management, owning features from discovery through launch and iteration.
- Products you can walk us through: the problem, the decisions you made, and the results, including what didn't work.
- Time on a team known for its bar in experience, quality, reliability or scale.
- Comfort with data: you can pull or read the numbers yourself rather than waiting for a report.
- Enough technical understanding to discuss trade-offs with engineers, including the limits of current AI models.
- Curiosity about what's changing in AI: you try new models and tools soon after they come out and form your own view of what they're good for.
Relevant experience may include:
- Working knowledge of Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
- B2B products, including working with sales or customer success on what customers ask for.
- Shipping an LLM-powered feature and working through its quality problems.
- An engineering, design or data background before product management.
You don't need any marketing or advertising experience, but you'll need to learn the domain quickly, including how marketers think about audiences and campaigns and what happens after a campaign launches.
Why this is interesting
Marketers judge the product by results such as meetings booked, pipeline created and ad spend that wasn't wasted, so you'll see quickly whether a decision moved those numbers.Much of the product is AI acting for the marketer. A large part of product judgment here is deciding what good output looks like and when a person should step in.
