AI Research Engineer — Computer Vision & Physical Intelligence
Salary: $5,500 – $6,500 per month
AI Research Engineer — Computer Vision & Physical Intelligence
About the role
We are seeking an AI Researcher specialising in computer vision or robotics to advance Physical Intelligence. The role covers applied research across the full AI model lifecycle — from designing multimodal models to optimising inference for reliable deployment in resource-constrained environments — supporting 5G/6G-enabled immersive communications, teleoperation, and intelligent robotic systems.
Key responsibilities
Conduct applied research in computer vision and multimodal learning, focused on developing novel algorithms, improving model accuracy and robustness, and reducing computational/inference overhead.
Develop and optimise AI-enabled solutions that support low-latency, reliable, and resilient operation over telecommunication systems.
Design, implement, and optimise AI models for robotic manipulation and control in resource-constrained environments.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to define research directions, develop prototypes, and translate research outcomes into practical solutions.
Stay current with advances in AI research, including telecom AI applications, robotics, and Physical AI.
About you
Proven research and development experience in computer vision, robotics, or related fields.
Hands-on experience in computer vision model development, multimodal modelling, and fine-tuning large language models (LLMs).
Proficiency in mainstream AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Python or C/C++.
Knowledge of Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and Physical AI systems is an advantage.
PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently drive research and development projects from conception through completion.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Publications at leading peer-reviewed venues (e.g. AAAI, CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS) are preferred.
