AI Security Compliance Technology & Semantic Systems Engineer

What you will be working on:

  • Designing and developing compliance-focused components as part of a larger, multi-partner European research initiative.
  • Working across the full development lifecycle.
  • Collaborating with international partners and contributing to shared technical deliverables.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of knowledge graphs, ontology, and semantic data modelling.
  • Understanding of the EU regulatory landscape, particularly the AI Act and GDPR.
  • Understanding of how regulatory obligations maps to data governance, model transparency, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with or knowledge of policy-as-code frameworks (Open Policy Agent, Rego, or similar).
  • Familiarity with standards and frameworks relevant to trustworthy AI and data sharing (ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, ENISA guidelines, ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Solid software development experience (Python / Java).

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with EU data spaces or IDSA/GAIA-X standards.
  • Exposure to privacy-enhancing technologies (federated learning, homomorphic encryption).
  • Knowledge of verifiable credentials or blockchain-based audit trails.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written communication skills, able to translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into clear documentation and reports.
  • Comfortable presenting and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage workload across multiple concurrent tasks.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving at the intersection of law, data, and technology.
