About the Department

• The AI and Digital Platform team at Franklin Templeton develops AI, data, workflow, and digital products that support the Sales and Distribution organization. The team includes software engineers, AI specialists, architects, and technical leads who collaborate in small, cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. The environment promotes innovation, continuous learning, responsible AI adoption, and evidence-based decision making. Joining the team provides opportunities to work on advanced AI technologies, build customer-impacting products, and develop expertise in enterprise-scale AI engineering.

How You Will Add Value?

Core Responsibilities

• You will build and enhance Generative AI product capabilities.
• You will develop backend services using Python frameworks.
• You will create modern web applications using React and Angular.
• You will implement RAG solutions and retrieval workflows.
• You will develop agent-based solutions using AI orchestration frameworks.
• You will build secure APIs and data integrations.
• You will create testing and telemetry capabilities for AI products.

Strategic Responsibilities

• You will leverage AI-assisted engineering tools effectively.
• You will apply best practices across AI and software solutions.
• You will implement prompting, retrieval, and structured-output techniques.
• You will validate AI behavior through testing and monitoring.
• You will improve products using analytics and user feedback.

Team & Collaboration

• You will collaborate with product design and data teams.
• You will support feature refinement and defect resolution.
• You will contribute to continuous product improvement.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role?

Experience, Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development expertise.
• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Exposure to Generative AI and LLM-based applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized deployments.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving capabilities.

Technical Skills

• Python, FastAPI, and Django.
• React, Angular, and TypeScript.
• REST APIs and backend engineering.
• Large Language Models (LLMs) and RAG solutions.
• LangChain, LangGraph, and agent orchestration.
• SQL and database technologies.
• Docker, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
