About the Company
Our client is a large, global organisation investing heavily in a new generation of technology capability, aimed at transforming customer and employee experience and reshaping how software is designed, built, tested and delivered. They're scaling secure, responsible AI use across the enterprise and building the platforms and practices to support it long term.
Role Overview
This role sits in Context Engineering, part of a wider AI Services team that takes priority ideas from concept through to working products. Rather than a typical build-and-ship engineering role, you'll help other teams use AI tools well - designing, building, testing and improving software - while keeping the outputs secure, maintainable and genuinely useful. You'll move comfortably between technical depth and clear explanation, helping teams understand what AI can and can't do, and how to use it responsibly in live delivery work.
Key Responsibilities
- Help shape how the organisation uses AI across the software delivery lifecycle
- Take practical AI use cases from idea through to production
- Support engineers and product teams as they adopt new ways of working
- Create guidance, examples and reusable patterns that make AI easier to use well
- Ensure alignment with architectural patterns, coding standards and performance
- Coach and facilitate as much as you build
What You'll Need
Essential
- 3+ years' experience in software engineering or application development
- Experience with AI-driven engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q/Kiro)
- Experience with agentic AI workflows and steering techniques for reliable automation
- Strong OOP skills (Java, Python or C#)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available)
Desirable
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, embeddings and context management
- Full-stack development experience (front end, back end, APIs, databases)
- Experience with containerisation/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and QA processes
- Awareness of security and compliance best practice
Benefits & Package
Competitive salary DOE, hybrid working (2 days per week in Belfast), and the chance to help build a new AI Centre of Excellence from the ground up.
