AI Solutions Consultant - Copilot Studio and Power Platform

Discussion

Salary: $140,000 – $150,000 per year plus superannuation

Digital Armour is hiring an AI Solutions Consultant to build the conversational and process agents we deliver to NSW councils and mid-market Australian clients. This is a hands-on build role with client contact, based full time in our North Sydney office.

About us

Digital Armour is an Australian Microsoft Solutions Partner and Telstra channel partner. We work with NSW local government and mid-market organisations across construction, community housing, industry associations and the not-for-profit sector.

Our Business Applications and AI practice delivers AI strategy, conversational and process agents, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement. Our public sector clients hold us to their security, privacy and records management standards, and everything we build is expected to survive contact with real users.

The role

You will build the agents we sell, and you will be the technical voice in the conversations that win them. The practice is running agent builds and Copilot enablement across several councils and mid-market clients at once. This role adds onshore build capacity and shortens the distance between a client conversation and working software.

Most of your week is spent building. The rest is spent with clients working out what to build.

What you will do

  • Build conversational and process agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio and deploy them into client tenants

  • Design the supporting automation in Power Platform, including Power Automate flows, Dataverse models and Power Apps where the use case calls for it

  • Integrate agents with client line of business systems through standard connectors, custom connectors, REST APIs and on-premises data gateways

  • Configure and extend Microsoft 365 Copilot, including declarative agents, knowledge sourcing and tenant readiness

  • Contribute solution design, effort estimates and the technical content of proposals and statements of work

  • Run client discovery workshops and presales meetings as the person who explains the solution and is then accountable for building it

  • Produce build documentation, test evidence and handover material that keeps the solution supportable after go live

  • Add reusable patterns and components to our practice asset library so each engagement starts further along

What you need

The criterion that matters most: at least one Copilot Studio agent that you built, that went into production, and that real people use. Proofs of concept and demonstrations do not count.

Beyond that:

  • Power Platform: Power Automate, Dataverse, standard and custom connectors, solution and environment management

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot administration and agent configuration

  • Working knowledge of Azure AI services including Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry and Document Intelligence, and the judgement to know when a use case belongs there rather than in Copilot Studio

  • Integration fundamentals: REST APIs, authentication and token handling, on-premises data gateway, SQL

  • Entra ID, permission scoping and the security model that decides what an agent can and cannot see

  • The ability to run a working session with a client, capture the outcome and write it up without supervision

  • Four to eight years total experience, including at least eighteen months hands-on with Copilot Studio or a comparable agent platform.

Helpful, not required

  • NSW local government or Australian public sector delivery experience

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement

  • SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview and information governance

  • Council line of business platforms such as Content Manager, TechnologyOne, Civica or SynergySoft

  • Microsoft certifications, particularly PL-200, PL-400 or AI-102

  • Australian citizenship, for engagements where the client requires it

Where this goes

This is a mid-level appointment with a defined route to practice technical lead. Progression is tied to demonstrated capability rather than time served.

  • Months 1 to 6: building under direction across one or two engagements, learning our delivery method, documentation standard and client base

  • Months 6 to 18: owning technical delivery on multiple concurrent engagements, leading client technical conversations and reviewing the work of others

  • Months 18 to 30: technical lead for the practice, setting the architecture and quality standard and shaping the reusable asset library

If you are looking for a lead title from day one, this appointment will not suit you.

What we offer

  • $140,000 to $150,000 base plus superannuation, set on demonstrated build capability

  • Full time permanent role, North Sydney office, with client site attendance across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW

  • A named growth path to practice technical lead

  • Agent and Copilot work across a mixed client base rather than one internal platform

Our process

1. Screening call

2. Technical interview with the Head of Business Applications and AI

3. Two hour practical build exercise in a Digital Armour environment

4. Final conversation and offer

We flag the build exercise up front so it does not surprise you late in the process.

To apply

Apply through Seek with your CV. In your application, tell us about one Copilot Studio agent you put into production: who used it, what it connected to, and what you would build differently now.

Digital Armour is recruiting for this role directly. Unsolicited candidate submissions from agencies not already engaged on this search will not be accepted.
