This position applies AI/ML, software engineering, embedded systems, reverse engineering, digital engineering, diagnostics/prognostics, signal processing, and DevSecOps to transform legacy capabilities into maintainable components of a larger integrated engineering toolchain.
The successful candidate must be capable of understanding complex legacy systems with incomplete source code or documentation, defining high-level modernization requirements, decomposing those requirements into executable technical tasks, and integrating individual solutions into scalable enterprise architectures.
The role will support aviation and ground platforms, Test Program Sets, Automated Test Equipment, embedded software, communication protocols, APIs, diagnostics, prognostics, algorithms, binary data formats, simulation, and engineering automation.
As a Senior AI Solutions Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Analyze and modernize legacy aviation and ground-system software, embedded applications, diagnostics, maintenance systems, Test Program Sets, Automated Test Equipment, and engineering tools.
Develop automation strategies using AI, machine learning, generative AI, advanced analytics, and software agents to accelerate engineering, testing, sustainment, diagnostics, and software modernization.
Reverse engineer legacy software, firmware, executable images, libraries, proprietary binary formats, communication streams, and undocumented interfaces.
Develop algorithms for sensor processing, feature extraction, classification, pattern recognition, time-series analysis, signal processing, sensor fusion, and equipment health assessment.
Analyze and implement communication protocols including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN/CAN-FD, J1939, J1708, UDS/ISO 14229, RS-232/422/485, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and proprietary interfaces.
Develop protocol decoders, bus monitors, message generators, data recorders, simulation interfaces, and automated protocol-analysis capabilities.
Design modern REST APIs, middleware, adapters, gateways, and service interfaces to integrate legacy applications into larger engineering ecosystems.
Develop desktop engineering applications using C#, .NET, WPF, XAML, and MVVM, along with embedded and high-performance applications using C, C++, and Python.
Translate operational needs and legacy system behavior into system, software, interface, data, performance, cybersecurity, and verification requirements.
Define how individual applications and capabilities integrate into a larger digital engineering, DevSecOps, AI, test automation, data, and sustainment toolchain.
Develop reusable frameworks and modular architectures supporting plug-ins, protocol modules, parsers, analytics engines, simulators, APIs, and multiple platform configurations.
Ensure AI-derived engineering results are validated, traceable, repeatable, and separated appropriately from deterministic mission- or safety-critical functionality.
