AI System Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI System Engineer who bridges back-end AI systems, spatial databases, and native mobile app development (iOS/Swift). You will own end-to-end mobile app architecture, model integration, and core back-end infrastructure. You will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the mobile application (GUIDi Arm App) – ensuring real-time execution of edge AI models, seamless communication with hardware modules via Bluetooth (BLE), and sync with venue spatial databases.

Key ResponsibilitiesMobile App Development & Architecture (iOS / Swift)

Lead native iOS application development (Swift / SwiftUI / Objective-C) for the GUIDi Arm App, implementing dual-role interfaces (\"User\" AI navigation & \"Caregiver\" tracking/telemetry).

Integrate device-level APIs for camera depth sensing, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication with the GUIDi Wearable hardware, and voice/audio streaming.

Implement voice command features and Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update workflows inside the app.

Edge AI Model Integration & On-Device Processing

Deploy and run Computer Vision and Spatial AI models on-device using frameworks such as CoreML, Metal Performance Shaders, or ONNX Runtime.

Optimize real-time inference speed for depth sensing, barrier detection, and AI Scene Description to ensure low latency and minimal battery consumption on mobile devices.

Spatial Infrastructure & Database Engineering

Architect and maintain high-precision spatial database servers for coordinate-mapped 3D environments, barrier tagging, dynamic artifact positioning, and navigation paths across client venues.

Build data pipelines to sync indoor/outdoor spatial maps between cloud/local servers and the mobile app interface.

System Analytics & Telemetry Data Pipelines

Build real-time streaming endpoints for caregiver live tracking, route history, safety alerts, and device status monitoring.

Support back-end analytics pipelines for GUIDi Map’s enterprise venue dashboard, processing foot-traffic and spatial interaction data.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mobile Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Mobile & Software Engineering

Demonstrated years of experience in native iOS app development (Swift / SwiftUI).

Demonstrated experience architecting and publishing iOS applications to production or enterprise deployment.

Strong knowledge of mobile design patterns, memory management, asynchronous programming, and BLE communication protocols.

AI & Edge Deployment

Practical experience integrating AI/ML models into mobile applications (CoreML, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or OpenCV).

Proficiency in Python or C++ for back-end scripting and model deployment pipelines.

System & Spatial Backend

Experience working with spatial data, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, gRPC, and cloud database integration.
