AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (Title 32)

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Windsor Locks, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the CTARNG. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the CTARNG. Area 3: Individuals eligible for membership in the CTARNG. Membership must be satisfied within four (4) months of selection.

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to assume responsibility for providing instruction, evaluation and examination of rated pilots, instructor pilots and aero scout observers in flying techniques and methods of instruction, examination and evaluation. Instruction involves basic and advanced techniques for flying aircraft using instruments. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Plans and implements flight training and instruction for rated pilots and instructor pilots in accordance with the Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). Conducts refresher, mission and continuation training in light fixed wing or utility and observer helicopters. Trains, instructs and evaluates pilots in operating aircraft using advanced instrument flight techniques. Trains pilots in basic and advanced techniques required to support the Pilot's unit mission. Instructs pilots in methods of instruction and evaluates instructor pilots proficiency to engage in flight instruction; instructs pilots in operating advanced attack helicopters or heavy multi-engine advanced transport helicopters.
