Aircraft Records Clerk

QualityPOSITION PURPOSE
Scans, indexes and audits all aircraft maintenance documents into the electronic filing system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Scans aircraft maintenance documents into the electronic filing system.
- Indexes records based on a variety of fields in order to render them searchable.
- Audits all records on an ongoing basis; checks after initial entry and performs audits to ensure that all information was captured and is accurate.
- Sorts incoming mail; distributes maintenance documents to the assigned Records Auditor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be able to type utilizing a keyboard.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prior clerical or administrative experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal customers and other employees of the organization.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
DECISION MAKING
Makes decisions on how to carry out specific day-to-day tasks. Consults with supervisor on anything out of the ordinary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds up to 30% of the time.
