Airfreight Executive
Summary
Oversee airfreight operations, coordinating with airlines and vendors to ensure timely cargo shipments and cost optimization while managing client relationships.
Primary Objective(s) of Position
- Oversee the daily operations of airfreight services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of air cargo shipments.
- Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, and ground handling agents to secure space, negotiate rates, and ensure smooth transit
Duties & Responsibilities
- Notify customer on cargo arrival, declaration of custom permit and notify transporter for delivery
- Follow standard and established compliance-related administrative activities
- Evaluate customer needs to improvefreight operations processes
- Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers and co-loaders to provide competitive shipping solutions to customers
- Lead inspection of cargo or material-handling security procedures
- Follow standard and established compliance-related administrative activities
- Ability to negotiate contract rates and manage relationships with airlines and service providers to optimize service levels
- Manage client relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Monitor and control airfreight costs, negotiate with carriers and service providers to obtain the best rates
- Work closely with other departments such as sales, customer service, and logistics to ensure a cohesive approach to airfreight operations
- Commit to and adhere to the HPL Occupational Health & Safety Management System
- Commit to and comply with the HPL Quality Management System
- Undertake any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Person Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Minimum 3years’ experience in airfreight operations or a similar role within the logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of air cargo operations, regulations, and industry best practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Adaptability to changing environments and regulations
