The Akamai CDN Platform Engineer will architect, manage, and optimize enterprise-wide Akamai CDN solutions and security configurations. The role involves utilizing Dynatrace for observability and performance monitoring while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support global applications.

Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities
- Architect,
implement, and manage enterprise-wide Akamai CDN solutions supporting
global applications.
- Lead
onboarding and migration of websites, APIs, and digital assets onto
Akamai.
- Manage
Akamai Property Manager, Edge DNS, GTM, Cloudlets, Akamai Ion, and DSA.
- Optimize
caching, acceleration, and origin strategies for improved performance.
- Implement
Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, API Security, and DDoS protections.
- Utilize Dynatrace for end-to-end application performance monitoring,
digital experience monitoring, root cause analysis, and proactive
performance optimization of CDN-delivered applications.
- Perform
troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning using Akamai
analytics and Dynatrace observability data.
- Collaborate
with cloud, network, DevOps, application, and security teams.
- Develop
automation using Akamai APIs, Terraform, and scripting tools.
- Mentor
junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8-10
years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years on Akamai CDN.
- Strong
expertise in Akamai Property Manager, Edge DNS, GTM, Cloudlets, Ion, and
DSA.
- Deep
understanding of CDN architecture, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, caching, and
traffic management.
- Hands-on
experience with Akamai security solutions including Kona WAF and Bot
Manager.
- Experience
using Dynatrace for application performance monitoring (APM), Real
User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, service flow analysis, and
incident troubleshooting.
- Strong
troubleshooting and production support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience
with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge
of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
- Scripting
experience in Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Experience
with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk,
Grafana, Datadog, or other enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Experience
integrating Akamai performance metrics and logs with Dynatrace dashboards
and alerting solutions.
