About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Manager, Allied Health WISER to lead our Workforce, Innovation, Strategy, Education and Research (WISER) team.
Reporting to the Chief Allied Health Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team focused on building workforce capability, strengthening professional governance and advancing innovation, education, digital health and research across Allied Health.
You’ll work across all of Monash Health from the team's home bases at Dandenong Hospital and Kingston Centre in Heatherton.
This is a full-time, ongoing role working Monday to Friday, although we’re also happy to consider candidates looking to work 0.8 EFT.
In this role you’ll lead the WISER team to deliver strategic priorities and support a thriving, future-focused Allied Health workforce. Key areas of responsibility include:

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the WISER team.

In partnership with the Allied Health Leadership Committee, drive initiatives across workforce development, practice improvement, innovation, education, research and Allied Health Assistant governance.

Ensuring best practice, quality improvement and service redesign to improve patient outcomes and experience are at the heart of everything we deliver.

Build effective partnerships across Monash Health, universities and external organisations.

Allocate resources to lead delivery of the Allied Health Leadership Committee workplan and contribute to system-wide Allied Health leadership.

Manage the WISER budget and resources effectively.

Support the development, supervision and mentoring of staff and students.

Foster an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Provide expert advice on complex Allied Health and clinical practice matters.
About You
You are an accomplished Allied Health leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking, professional expertise and strong people leadership.
You will have:

A qualification in an Allied Health discipline governed by Monash Health’s Chief Allied Health Officer.

If applicable for your discipline, a current practising AHPRA registration with no restrictions.

Eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.

A postgraduate qualification in Management, Leadership or Public Health, or demonstrated progression towards one, is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience in Allied Health leadership, workforce development and professional governance.

Demonstrated operational management and people leadership experience.
-
Knowledge and application of project management, change management, quality improvement and service redesign methodologies in healthcare.

Experience in clinical education, professional development and interdisciplinary practice.

Strong understanding of Government policy and broader issues affecting Allied Health and the health system.

Highly developed people leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
-
Experience contributing to research, publications, conference presentations, peer review and/or successful research grant applications is highly regarded.

Strong computer literacy and the ability to work effectively in a complex health service environment.
