Ambulance Driver
ART Ambulance Services is a Dubai mainland licensed ambulance operator and the UAE arm of Ambuce Rescue Team NV (Belgium, est. 1975). We provide non-emergency patient transport, event medical standby, corporate and industrial site medical cover, and international medical escort services.
We are looking for Ambulance Drivers to join our operations team. You will drive DCAS-permitted ambulances safely and efficiently across Dubai and the wider UAE, working alongside EMTs and paramedics to move patients between hospitals, clinics, homes, airports and event sites. The role is as much about the patient as the vehicle: our drivers are expected to be calm, courteous, discreet and comfortable assisting the clinical crew with patient handling.
Key responsibilities
- Drive ambulances safely and defensively in compliance with DCAS, RTA and UAE traffic regulations
- Respond to dispatch instructions and reach pick-up and drop-off points within agreed response times
- Assist the clinical crew with loading, securing and unloading patients on stretchers, carry chairs and wheelchairs
- Complete pre-shift and post-shift vehicle, equipment and oxygen checks, and report defects immediately
- Keep the vehicle clean, stocked, fuelled and decontaminated in line with infection control procedures
- Complete trip sheets, mileage logs, PCRs and handover documentation accurately
- Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality and comfort at all times
- Support event medical standby and site cover duties as assigned
Requirements
Requirements (mandatory)
- Cancelled or visit visa / NOC available, currently inside the UAE and able to join immediately
- Valid BLS certification (AHA or equivalent, 6-months valid in date at the time of application)
- Experience certificate proving minimum 2 years' professional driving experience
- Valid UAE driving licence held for at least 1 year
- Police Clearance Certificate from home country and from the UAE
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Clean UAE traffic record, no major violations or license suspensions
- Physically fit to lift and carry patients and equipment with a partner
- Willing and available to work a flexible rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and public holidays
Preferred
- Previous ambulance, patient transport or emergency vehicle driving experience in the UAE or GCC
- DCAS licence already held, or eligible to be licensed
- Multilingual: Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tagalog, Russian or other languages alongside English
- EMR or EMT certification
- Defensive driving or emergency vehicle operator course (EVOC) certificate
- Strong working knowledge of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Northern Emirates road networks, hospitals and clinics
