JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care to patients in the intra-operative setting using the nursing process. Is responsible for managing the care of assigned patients and coping with rapid case turnover and directing activities of ancillary staff. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the population served.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 24 hours of continuing education for level II & III (excluding mandatory inservice requirements).
Licensure: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.
Experience: Previous surgical experience preferred. Minimum of one year nursing experience in acute care setting preferred or will be a graduate of a peri-operative training program. Minimum of 2 years experience and presentation of 1 Inservice for level II and 3 years and presentation of 2 in-services per year for level III.
Skills: Finger and hand dexterity. Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of the patient’s needs. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for the procedure being performed and the population served. Ability to serve as preceptor and participate in QI project for level II and level III.
